_A Remembrancer's Report: The Aeternum Sector - 005.M31_
This is Remembrancer Patrick Stella. With the completion of the traitor rituals, the situation on Bellatoris Prime appeared hopeless. The darkness between our illumination arrays grew more malevolent by the hour, and the strange energies beneath Finitum intensified to dangerous levels.
Yet in our darkest hour, a desperate plan was formulated. If we could not stop the rituals, perhaps we could still disrupt their effects by securing the critical energy nexus points where the ritual energies converged. Loyalist forces mustered for one final, coordinated counteroffensive across multiple fronts, aiming to seize control of these crucial locations before the rituals' effects became irreversible.
The fighting that followed was among the most desperate I've witnessed since the betrayal began. Both sides committed their elite reserves, knowing the fate of Bellatoris hung in the balance.
[[S1 Session 9 Scores and Results|Technical Notes]]
1. **Eastern Energy Nexus:** The Scions of Ultramar engaged a Sons of Horus detachment in a brutal struggle for control of a pulsing energy node. The loyalist Astartes, disciplined as ever, held their defensive lines against repeated assaults while methodically advancing toward their objective. While a Sons of Horus Chaplain fell in the fighting, the battle's turning point came when the Ultramarines Praetor personally destroyed a hulking traitor Contemptor Dreadnought that had been wreaking havoc among loyalist lines. Though narrowly won, this victory secured one of the critical nexus points for the loyalists.

2. **Southern Convergence Point:** In what can only be described as a triumphant redemption, the Sollusan Sunborne—previously devastated in earlier engagements—executed a flawless operation against the Geno 3-7 Chiliad. Using the terrain to their advantage, the Solar Auxilia outmaneuvered their opponents at every turn. The decisive moment came when a tank explosion near the Geno commander triggered a catastrophic chain reaction throughout their lines. With their leadership decimated and formations shattered, the traitor forces abandoned the convergence point, giving the loyalists their most decisive victory of the counteroffensive.

3. **Northwestern Ritual Confluence:** Loyal Iron Warriors attempted to secure a site where multiple ritual energies converged, but encountered Emperor's Children who had already begun to manifest disturbing warp mutations. The fighting was savage, with neither side willing to yield. In a tragic exchange, the loyalist Praetor and Chaplain were pulled into what witnesses described as a "daemon tarpit"—a manifestation of pure warp energy—while the Emperor's Children Primus Medicae was crushed by a thunder hammer. Despite their valiant efforts, the loyalists failed to secure this critical point, allowing the ritual energies to continue flowing unabated here.

4. **Central Mechanicum Nexus Point:** The loyalist Mechanicum committed a Knight Cerastus to secure a critical techno-arcane junction where ritual energies interfaced with ancient machinery beneath Finitum. They faced traitorous Iron Hands who brought their own technological might to bear. Despite the Knight's awesome firepower, it eventually succumbed to the combined assault of an Iron Hands Land Raider and the Iron Father's Morlock retinue. The traitor forces, equipped with devastating Volkite Culverin squads, repeatedly blinded the loyalist gunners with some form of warp-technological interference. With the fall of the Knight, this vital nexus point remained in traitor hands.

With two nexus points secured and two lost, the counteroffensive has yielded mixed results. The ritual energies have been partially disrupted, temporarily stabilizing the growing warp anomalies across the Stage. For the first time since the Ruinstorm descended, the darkness has receded slightly from our illumination arrays.
However, the battle is far from over. The energy readings from beneath Finitum continue to fluctuate wildly, and strange phenomena persist in the darkest areas between our beacons of light. Magos Deozz theorizes that we may have delayed whatever cataclysm the traitors sought to unleash, but without securing all nexus points, we cannot prevent it entirely.
Most concerning are the ancient chambers deep beneath Finitum's central spire, where auspex readings indicate massive energy buildups. Whatever slumbers there appears to be responding to the ritual energies flowing through the nexus points. I fear our struggle upon the surface may soon be overshadowed by what awakens below.
Until next time.
