Leader of the [[Salamanders - 164th Independent Company]] **Appearance**: **Personality**: A true representative of his legion, Captain Gadin is slow to show emotion in combat but garrulous and forthcoming outside of it. While not the most proficient smith in his company, he is known to be one of the foremost storytellers, a legacy of his tribal upbringing on Terra but honored by the culture of his legion's homeworld of Nocturne. **Description**: One of the last members of the Eighteenth Legion to be inducted during the Unification Wars era, Antarus Gadin had his baptism of fire in the hellish Assault of the Tempest Galleries. One of only two members of his intake company to survive that battle, the young initiate had become a seasoned veteran in a matter of months, returning from the battle carrying a hammer built from the scavenged parts of his cybertronic enemies. In the aftermath of the Tempest Galleries, Antarus was made a lance-decurion, and fought in some of the earliest battles of the Great Crusade, even fighting under the Emperor's direct command during the Outer Solar Campaign. He was eventually raised to the rank of lieutenant, a promotion approved by Legion Master Cassian Vaughn himself. As an officer, Antarus found himself leading a unit employing the newly-developed Tactical Dreadnought Armor in boarding actions and other similar Zone Mortalis missions. After being attached to the 164th company, Gadin earned the moniker "The Striking Hammer", both for his relentless assault tactics as well as for his self-built weapon, named Maq-Kabu in honor of his tribe on Terra. When Ekanus Tor was mortally wounded, Gadin was promoted to lance-captain and took command of the 164th. Gadin had a distinguished career as commander, earning accolades from both Astartes and Excertus Imperialis officers for his company's actions. Gadin retained command of the 164th company after meeting the Primarch Vulkan, leading his veterans and others in training new recruits for the now-expanding Salamanders legion. Always leading from the front, he leads his rejuvenated company in multiple campaigns, both as part of larger Salamanders task forces and in standalone actions with the 1819th Expeditionary Fleet. **Relationship with Army**: Respected. Both for his legacy as one of the oldest Terran members of the legion, and also for his history of leadership, Captain Gadin is trusted unequivocally by the members of his company, and treated with great deference by all mortal commanders he has served alongside. **War Gear:** Cataphractii Praetor with Maq-Kabu (Mastercrafted Thunder Hammer), Combi-Volkite, Mantle of the Elder Drake #coreplayer #salamanders #loyalist
