## Campaign Overview
### The Theater of War
Prima Gemma is divided into **9 Strategic Sectors**:
**4 Strategic Waypoints** (All start Neutral)
- North Waypoint
- East Waypoint
- South Waypoint
- West Waypoint
**5 Great Hives** (Starting Control Listed)
- **Hive Adamas** - Imperial Fortress (Loyalist Strong)
- **Hive Alexandrite** - Rebel Stronghold (Traitor Strong)
- **Hive Kyaneos** - Agricultural Center (Neutral)
- **Hive Rubeus** - Titan Forges (Neutral)
- **Hive Spinella** - Orbital Elevator (Neutral)
### Campaign Timeline
- **Sessions 1-3:** Footholds *(500-1000pts)* - Only Strategic Waypoints may be assaulted
- **Sessions 4-8:** Great Hive Wars *(1250-2250pts)* - Great Hives become available for assault
- **Sessions 9-11:** Decisive Battle *(2500-3000pts)* - Final push for Prima Gemma

## Core Control System
### Control Levels
Each sector has one of five control states:
**Loyalist Strong ← Loyalist Controlled ← Neutral → Traitor Controlled → Traitor Strong**
### Control Thresholds
| Control Level | Strategic Waypoints | Great Hives |

| **Strong** | Control Score > 10 | Control Score > 20 |
| **Controlled** | Control Score > 5 | Control Score > 10 |
| **Neutral** | Control Score ≤ 5 | Control Score ≤ 5 |
### Assault Prerequisites
- **Strategic Waypoints:** Can always be assaulted (Sessions 1+)
- **Great Hives (Sessions 4-8):** Require specific waypoint control:
- **Hive Adamas:** Must control Eastern Waypoint
- **Hive Alexandrite:** Must control Western Waypoint
- **Hive Kyaneos:** Must control Southern Waypoint
- **Hive Rubeus:** Must control Northern Waypoint
- **Hive Spinella:** Must control 3 of 4 Strategic Waypoints
- **Great Hives (Sessions 9-11):** May be assaulted without waypoint control, but victories earn -1 Control Score

## Battle Resolution
### Pre-Battle: Secret Strategy Selection
Each attacking player secretly chooses one approach:

1. Attacker targets enemy **Controlled** sector, wins 135% (Major Victory = +3 CS)
2. Attacker chose **All-Out Assault** (+2 CS bonus)
3. **Total:** +5 Control Score toward attacking faction

## Great Hive Special Abilities

### Hive Adamas & Hive Alexandrite - Imperial/Rebel Strongholds
**Battlefield Assets:** Deploy fortifications and defensive positions
- **1250-1999pts:** 2 Asset Points
- **2000-2999pts:** 3 Asset Points
- **3000pts:** 5 Asset Points

### Hive Kyaneos - Agricultural Control
**Supply Disruption:** Enemy forces suffer from poor logistics
- Opposing players roll d6 each session:
- **1-3:** Leadership -1 for the session
- **4-6:** Cool -1 for the session
- *Cannot be negated by Legion rules or special abilities*
### Hive Rubeus - Titan Forges
**Death from Above (and afar):** Devastating long-range fire support
- **Special Reaction:** "Guns of the Conqueror" (Liber Hereticus p.191)
- Costs **2 Reaction Points** (modified from book)
- Once per session for the controlling faction
- *Must have Strong Control of Rubeus*
### Hive Spinella - Orbital Elevator
**Orbital Fire Support:** Precise bombardments from orbit
- **Special Reaction:** "Guns of the Conqueror" (Liber Hereticus p.191)
- Costs **3 Reaction Points** (as written)
- Once per game, per player

## Session Administration
### Pre-Session
1. Collect secret strategy choices from all players
2. Apply Great Hive bonuses to qualifying armies
### Post-Session
1. Record battle results and strategy selections
2. Calculate and apply Control Score changes
3. Update sector control levels
4. Note character developments for narrative
### Control Score Management
- **Uncontested Sectors:** Controlled becomes Strong (moves to threshold +1)
- **Negative Scores:** Applied against defending faction's total, don't carry between sessions
- **Minimum Scores:** Cannot go below 0 unless specifically noted
